Joost de Valk urges the WordPress Developer Community to take the modernization of the user interface as top priority

The News, now in detail

Yoast SEO plugin founder Joost de Valk recently published a critical review of the wordpress user interface and stated that it is simply bad and it’s hard to use and this is causing it to lose it’s market share to Content Management System like wix

He then went on to say that the official wordpress design philosophy states that “They wanted to make WordPress easy to use every time it updates. The goal was that a non technical person could design a full fledged website in WordPress within 5 minutes.” However the reality is far from it, infact WordPress Developer Matt Mullenweg commented “that designing in wix is faster then it is in WordPress.”

Joost de Valk then highlighted that currently WordPress user interface has three different versions, this eventually elongates the learning curve the end user has to go through all of them because he or she has to learn to navigate the three user interfaces

Long Story Short – the WordPress Web Dev Community needs to pump up the UI!

Our Take – With due regards to Mr Joost de Valk, but we Love WordPress, the way it is, yes it’s a little cryptic and yes there is a learning curve to it, but it get’s the job done, every time.
